Tilaknagar Industries Limited (TI) has reported its highest-ever monthly sales in June 2026, with combined business volumes reaching 3.4 million cases. The milestone, driven by strong demand for Imperial Blue Whisky and Mansion House Brandy, follows May’s record 3 million cases, underscoring TI’s execution strength and sustained consumer momentum.

Tilaknagar Industries Limited has set a new benchmark in its growth trajectory, announcing its highest-ever monthly sales performance for June 2026. The company’s combined business volumes reached an unprecedented 3.4 million cases, fuelled by robust demand for its flagship brands Imperial Blue Whisky and Mansion House Brandy.

The achievement builds on the momentum of May 2026, when TI crossed the 3 million-case mark for the first time in its history. Imperial Blue Whisky, which has rapidly become a cornerstone of the company’s portfolio, played a pivotal role in driving this growth. The brand alone surpassed 2 million cases in both May and June, reflecting sustained consumer demand and the company’s ability to execute effectively even after minor operational disruptions in April.

Mansion House Brandy, another stalwart in TI’s line-up, also contributed significantly to the record-breaking performance. Together, the two brands have reinforced TI’s position as one of India’s leading spirits companies, demonstrating resilience and agility in a competitive market.

The back-to-back milestones in May and June highlight TI’s operational strength and its capacity to scale rapidly in response to consumer demand. The company’s ability to deliver consistent growth across consecutive months signals not only strong brand equity but also effective supply chain management and execution capabilities.

Industry observers note that TI’s performance underscores the broader premiumisation trend in India’s spirits market, where consumers are increasingly gravitating towards established brands with a reputation for quality. By capitalising on this shift, TI has positioned itself to sustain growth in the months ahead.

The record volumes achieved in June mark a defining moment for TI, reinforcing its ambition to build enduring brands and create long-term value. With Imperial Blue Whisky and Mansion House Brandy continuing to capture consumer loyalty, the company’s trajectory suggests further milestones are within reach as India’s spirits market evolves.

Launched with a Zero Sugar option and a Gen Z-led campaign featuring Yung Gravy’s “Float, Float, Baby”, the indulgent soda taps into the dirty soda trend, inviting fans to “Treat That Dawg in You”.

The summer’s most playful question – “Do you have that Dawg in You?” – has been answered with the arrival of MUG Root Beer’s Vanilla Howler, a limited-time flavour that reimagines the classic root beer float. Hailed by media as “the best new soda we’ve tried in 2026”, the launch marks a bold step for one of the fastest-growing soda brands in the portfolio.

Vanilla Howler delivers a creamy, indulgent twist on the nostalgic float, designed to capture the growing appetite for dirty sodas. Positioned as a treat for everyday occasions, the innovation underscores the brand’s ability to blend heritage with modern indulgence.

To amplify the launch, MUG has partnered with Gen Z artist Yung Gravy, who has put a fresh spin on an iconic ’90s track with “Float, Float, Baby”. The collaboration brings the campaign to life in true MUG fashion, combining humour, music and cultural nostalgia to resonate with younger audiences. The track embodies the brand’s playful spirit, encouraging fans to embrace the summer with confidence and creativity.

A new publication on Port City Colombo has been launched, offering a platform for research, case studies, and industry partnerships. Highlighted by Prof. Dushan Jayawickrama, it deepens collaboration with Sri Lanka’s higher education sector, exposing students and academics to global trends in urban development, infrastructure investment, and economic transformation.

Port City Colombo has taken another significant step in strengthening its ties with Sri Lanka’s academic community through the launch of a new publication dedicated to exploring the challenges and opportunities of one of the country’s most ambitious development initiatives. The publication, unveiled with the endorsement of Prof. Dushan Jayawickrama, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, is designed to serve as a platform for critical thinking, evidence-based learning, and collaborative inquiry.

“This publication offers a unique platform for critical thinking and evidence-based learning on one of the most significant development initiatives in the country – Port City Colombo,” Prof. Jayawickrama remarked, underscoring the importance of academic engagement in shaping the future of the project. His comments reflect a growing recognition that large-scale urban and infrastructure ventures must be informed by rigorous research and scholarly debate if they are to deliver sustainable, long-term benefits.

The initiative builds on Port City Colombo’s ongoing engagement with Sri Lanka’s higher education sector, which has already seen the introduction of workshops, research collaborations, student engagements, ideathons, and knowledge-sharing programmes. These efforts are aimed at exposing students and academics to global trends in urban development, infrastructure investment, and economic transformation, while also encouraging them to contribute fresh ideas and perspectives to the national discourse.

By fostering such partnerships, Port City Colombo is positioning itself not only as a landmark development project but also as a catalyst for intellectual growth and innovation. The publication is expected to feature case studies that highlight both the successes and challenges of similar international projects, offering valuable lessons for Sri Lanka as it navigates its own path towards modernisation. Industry partnerships will further enrich the content, ensuring that academic insights are grounded in practical realities and aligned with the needs of investors, policymakers, and communities.

For students, the publication represents an opportunity to engage directly with issues of urban planning, economic policy, and sustainable development, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. For academics, it provides a forum to test ideas, share findings, and contribute to shaping one of the most transformative projects in Sri Lanka’s recent history.

Port City Colombo’s commitment to knowledge-sharing reflects a broader vision of development that goes beyond bricks and mortar. By embedding research and education into its framework, the project signals its intent to create not just a new urban space, but a hub of learning, innovation, and collaboration that can inspire future generations.

As Sri Lanka continues to recover economically and seek new avenues for growth, initiatives such as this publication highlight the importance of integrating academia into the national development agenda. In doing so, Port City Colombo is not only building a city but also nurturing a culture of inquiry and partnership that could prove vital to the country’s long-term success.

Maitri Advertising Works, in collaboration with Asianet and JioStar, has unveiled Pooppattu—the world’s first audio Pookalam. Reimagining Kerala’s Onam tradition, the project transforms floral artistry into sound, blending culture, technology, and tradition. Pooppattu invites audiences to hear the vibrancy of Onapookalam, creating a multisensory celebration of heritage and innovation.

What if an Onapookalam could be heard, not just seen? That question sparked the creation of Pooppattu, a pioneering cultural experiment that has redefined how Kerala’s most cherished festival is experienced. Conceived at Maitri Advertising Works P Ltd, the idea found resonance with Asianet and JioStar, who became the perfect partners to bring this vision to life. Together, they transformed a simple thought into the world’s first audio Pookalam—a multisensory celebration that bridges tradition and technology in an unexpected way.

Onapookalam, the floral carpet painstakingly arranged during Onam, has long been a visual spectacle, symbolising harmony, community and joy. Pooppattu reimagines this ritual by translating its essence into sound. Instead of petals and patterns, audiences are invited to experience the vibrancy of Onam through an auditory tapestry. Each note, rhythm and layer of sound mirrors the colours, textures and emotions of the traditional Pookalam, creating a living artwork that can be heard as well as felt.

The collaboration between Maitri, Asianet and JioStar was crucial in shaping this innovation. Maitri’s creative spark provided the conceptual foundation, while Asianet’s cultural reach and JioStar’s technological expertise ensured the idea could be scaled and shared widely. The result is not just a campaign but a cultural milestone—an experiment that demonstrates how heritage can evolve without losing its soul. By blending artistry with digital innovation, Pooppattu offers a new way to engage with tradition, particularly for younger audiences who seek immersive and interactive experiences.

Pooppattu’s significance lies in its ability to make tradition participatory. Just as families gather to create floral designs, listeners can now gather to experience the audio Pookalam together, sharing in its rhythms and resonances. It is both a tribute to Kerala’s cultural richness and a statement about the possibilities of creative reinvention. In a world where festivals are increasingly mediated by technology, Pooppattu stands out as an example of how digital tools can amplify, rather than dilute, cultural meaning.

The project also underscores the growing role of Indian creative agencies in shaping global conversations about culture and innovation. By daring to ask “what if” and pursuing an idea that seemed improbable, Maitri and its partners have demonstrated the power of imagination in redefining tradition. Pooppattu is not merely an audio experiment; it is a cultural artefact that embodies the spirit of Onam in a new dimension.

As audiences tune in, they are invited to hear the festival in a way never before possible. The rustle of petals, the hum of community, the rhythm of celebration—all find expression in sound. Pooppattu is proof that tradition, when reinterpreted with creativity and technology, can continue to surprise, delight and inspire. It is, quite simply, an Onapookalam you can hear.

Meta will invest ₹8,550 crore ($900 million) in CRED at a $4.5 billion valuation, marking one of India’s largest fintech deals. Founder Kunal Shah transitions to Meta as WhatsApp’s new head, while Miten Sampat becomes interim CEO, steering CRED towards its next growth phase and potential IPO.

Meta has announced a landmark investment of ₹8,550 crore ($900 million) in Indian fintech unicorn CRED, valuing the company at $4.5 billion. The deal represents one of the largest capital infusions into India’s fintech sector and underscores Meta’s growing commitment to deepening its presence in the country’s digital economy.

Alongside the investment, CRED founder Kunal Shah will transition to Meta as the new head of WhatsApp, succeeding Will Cathcart, who is moving into another role within the company. Shah’s appointment signals Meta’s intent to strengthen WhatsApp’s leadership in India, its largest market, where the platform is increasingly central to digital payments, commerce, and community engagement.

Founded in 2018, CRED has rapidly evolved into one of India’s most influential fintech platforms. With 1.7 crore members, the company processes over 40% of India’s credit card bill payments and manages lending assets under management (AUM) exceeding ₹24,000 crore. Its growth trajectory has positioned it as a key player in India’s financial services ecosystem, blending technology, trust, and consumer-centric innovation.

As Shah steps away from day-to-day operations, Miten Sampat will assume the role of interim CEO, guiding CRED through its next chapter. The company is expected to sharpen its focus on scaling operations, diversifying offerings, and preparing for a potential initial public offering (IPO). Sampat’s leadership will be critical in sustaining momentum while ensuring continuity in CRED’s ambitious roadmap.

Industry observers view Meta’s investment as a strategic move that aligns with its broader vision of integrating financial services into its platforms. By partnering with CRED, Meta gains access to a robust fintech infrastructure and a loyal user base, while CRED benefits from Meta’s global reach and technological capabilities. The collaboration could accelerate innovation in digital payments and lending, reinforcing India’s position as a hub for fintech advancement.

The dual development—Meta’s investment in CRED and Shah’s elevation to WhatsApp leadership—marks a significant moment in India’s digital and financial landscape. It reflects the convergence of technology, finance, and consumer engagement, with both companies poised to shape the future of digital transactions and communication in the region.

Cannes Lions 2026 introduces a closed-door Forum for global marketers to tackle board-level challenges and unveils AI Craft subcategories to celebrate human-machine collaboration in artistry. CEO Simon Cook calls 2026 transformative, with greater engagement from brands and independents underscoring the festival’s role as a benchmark for creativity and industry change.

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026 is shaping up to be a year of recalibration and renewal, with the introduction of a new closed-door Forum for global marketers and fresh AI Craft subcategories across the craft-led Lions. Together, these initiatives reflect the industry’s shifting priorities and appetite for deeper engagement.

The Forum is designed as a peer-level space where the world’s leading marketers can speak candidly, challenge each other, and address the pressing issues they face at board level. Growth, capital allocation, and influence are at the heart of these discussions, with the format intended to foster genuine exchange rather than surface-level networking. By creating a confidential environment, the Lions are signalling the importance of tackling the realities of marketing leadership in a rapidly evolving landscape.

Meanwhile, the Craft Lions continue to attract sustained interest, underscoring the enduring value of artistry and execution in creative work. This year, the introduction of AI Craft subcategories marks a significant step in recognising the fusion of human creativity and artificial intelligence. The focus is not on novelty but on genuine craft, where AI serves the idea rather than overshadowing it. The categories aim to spotlight work that achieves outcomes neither humans nor machines could accomplish alone, reinforcing the festival’s role as a benchmark for creative innovation.

Simon Cook, CEO of Cannes Lions, emphasised the transformative nature of 2026, noting that the awards have always mirrored industry disruption while opening doors to opportunity. “Our industry is constantly shifting, adapting and innovating, and 2026 feels like it will be remembered as a transformative year for many reasons,” he said. He highlighted greater engagement from brand marketers and independents as evidence of the festival’s relevance, adding that coming together to navigate change and celebrate creativity has never been more essential.

The dual emphasis on candid leadership dialogue and the recognition of hybrid craft signals a festival intent on setting new standards. In a year defined by recalibration, Cannes Lions is positioning itself as both a forum for strategic reflection and a showcase for creative excellence, ensuring its legacy as the industry’s most influential gathering endures.

Sportswear brand TENXYOU, co-founded by Sachin Tendulkar and entrepreneur Karthik Gurumurthy, has achieved ₹50 crore in annual recurring revenue within eight months of launch. With over 50,000 customers, the brand’s rapid rise underscores strong demand for India-focused performance footwear and apparel, positioning it against global giants while drawing investor attention.

In a striking demonstration of India’s appetite for homegrown sportswear, TENXYOU has crossed ₹50 crore in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within just eight months of launch. The brand, co-founded by cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and serial entrepreneur Karthik Gurumurthy, has already served more than 50,000 customers, signalling robust demand for performance-driven products tailored to Indian consumers.

TENXYOU’s early success reflects a carefully crafted positioning strategy. By focusing on performance footwear and apparel designed for local needs, the company has set itself against global heavyweights such as Nike and Adidas. This ambition is not merely about competing with international brands but about carving out a distinct identity rooted in India’s sporting culture and consumer expectations. Tendulkar’s association lends credibility and emotional resonance, while Gurumurthy’s entrepreneurial expertise ensures operational agility and market responsiveness.

The rapid growth has not gone unnoticed. Across the startup ecosystem, investors and industry leaders have highlighted TENXYOU’s early traction as evidence of strong product-market fit. In a sector where global brands dominate, the ability of a new entrant to achieve such scale in under a year is remarkable. Analysts point to the combination of Tendulkar’s enduring influence, Gurumurthy’s business acumen, and a clear focus on performance innovation as key drivers of this momentum.

TENXYOU’s inclusion in Peak XV Partners’ Surge accelerator program further underscores its potential. The program, which supports high-growth startups across India and Southeast Asia, provides mentorship, resources, and strategic guidance to help companies scale rapidly. For TENXYOU, this backing offers not only validation but also a platform to expand its reach and refine its growth strategy.

The brand’s trajectory also reflects broader shifts in India’s consumer landscape. As fitness, sport, and lifestyle increasingly converge, demand for apparel and footwear that combine performance with style is rising. TENXYOU’s ability to deliver products that resonate with this evolving mindset has positioned it as a credible challenger in a competitive market. Its early adoption figures suggest that Indian consumers are willing to embrace a domestic brand that matches global standards while offering cultural relevance.

Looking ahead, TENXYOU’s challenge will be to sustain this momentum. Scaling beyond the initial surge requires consistent innovation, supply chain resilience, and brand-building that deepens consumer loyalty. Yet the foundation laid in its first eight months is undeniably strong. With Tendulkar’s stature anchoring its identity and Gurumurthy’s entrepreneurial drive shaping its execution, TENXYOU is poised to redefine India’s sportswear narrative.

In a market long dominated by international giants, TENXYOU’s rise is more than a commercial milestone—it is a statement of intent. By blending performance, cultural resonance, and entrepreneurial ambition, the brand has signalled that Indian sportswear can compete at the highest level, and perhaps even set new benchmarks for the industry.

BMW Group has unveiled the all-new MINI Countryman C in India, marking its stylish debut as the SUV of MINI. Bigger, bolder, yet retaining its go-kart spirit, the Countryman C is the 11th model locally produced at BMW Group Plant Chennai, blending robust utility with expressive design.

The MINI brand has always been synonymous with compact dynamism, playful design, and a spirited driving experience. Yesterday, that legacy took a bold new step in India with the debut of the all-new MINI Countryman C, a model that redefines what an SUV can be while staying true to MINI’s distinctive character.

Born in the UK, raised in Germany, and now made in India, the Countryman C represents a global journey culminating in local production. It is the 11th model to roll out from BMW Group Plant Chennai, underscoring the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint in India’s premium automotive market.

The Countryman C is designed for individuals who demand more than just mobility. It offers robust utility and everyday versatility, yet ensures that every drive remains expressive and fun. With its larger proportions, bold stance, and unmistakable MINI styling, the SUV makes a statement that growing up doesn’t mean losing your edge.

At its core, the Countryman C retains MINI’s hallmark “go-kart” feel — agile handling, responsive steering, and a driving experience that is as engaging as it is practical. This blend of utility and playfulness positions the model as a compelling choice for urban drivers who want space and comfort without sacrificing personality.

The debut also highlights BMW Group’s strategic emphasis on localisation. By producing the Countryman C at its Chennai plant, the company not only strengthens its manufacturing capabilities but also signals confidence in India’s role as a hub for premium automotive production. Local assembly ensures competitive pricing, quicker availability, and a closer alignment with the needs of Indian consumers.

The launch event itself was a showcase of MINI’s modern character. The Countryman C stole the spotlight with its stylish presence, embodying the brand’s evolution while staying rooted in its heritage. For MINI enthusiasts, the SUV offers a fresh chapter — one that balances practicality with the brand’s irrepressible charm.

In a market where SUVs dominate consumer preference, MINI’s entry with the Countryman C is both timely and strategic. It caters to a growing segment of buyers who want the commanding presence of an SUV but still value individuality and design flair. By combining bold aesthetics with everyday usability, MINI has crafted a product that resonates with contemporary lifestyles.

The Countryman C’s arrival in India is more than just a product launch; it is a statement of intent. It reflects BMW Group’s vision of blending global innovation with local relevance, ensuring that Indian customers can access world-class vehicles tailored to their needs.

With the MINI Countryman C now part of BMW Group’s locally produced portfolio, the brand has reinforced its position in India’s premium automotive landscape. Stylish, versatile, and undeniably fun, the Countryman C proves that MINI’s spirit of adventure is alive and thriving — now with a distinctly Indian chapter.

Solestra Group and Jeh Aerospace have inaugurated a Global Manufacturing Centre in Hyderabad, reinforcing Telangana’s position as a hub for aerospace innovation. The facility will drive new product introduction, industrialisation, and precision manufacturing, strengthening India’s role in global aerospace supply chains and advancing the state’s vision of next-generation industrial growth.

Telangana’s ambition to position itself as a global hub for advanced manufacturing and aerospace innovation has received a significant boost with the inauguration of a Global Manufacturing Centre (GMC) in Hyderabad. The facility, established through a multi-year strategic partnership between North America’s Solestra Group and India’s Jeh Aerospace, marks a milestone in the state’s industrial journey.

Located within Jeh Aerospace’s Hyderabad facility, the GMC is designed to serve as a critical hub for New Product Introduction (NPI), industrialisation, capacity expansion, and precision manufacturing. By consolidating these functions under one roof, the centre aims to accelerate delivery timelines, enhance quality standards, and provide a single point of accountability across the aerospace value chain. This integrated approach is expected to strengthen customer confidence and enable global competitiveness.

The collaboration between Solestra Group and Jeh Aerospace reflects a broader trend of international companies partnering with Indian firms to leverage the country’s engineering talent, infrastructure, and cost efficiencies. Hyderabad, in particular, has emerged as a preferred destination for aerospace and defence manufacturing, thanks to its robust ecosystem of engineering firms, advanced manufacturing units, and defence suppliers. The city’s reputation is further bolstered by supportive state policies, world-class industrial parks, and a skilled workforce trained in cutting-edge technologies.

For Telangana, the GMC represents more than just an industrial investment. It is a strategic step towards realising the state’s vision of becoming a global hub for high-value engineering and next-generation industrial growth. By strengthening local manufacturing capabilities and fostering international partnerships, the state is creating a platform for innovation that can serve both domestic and global markets.

Industry experts note that the GMC will play a pivotal role in enabling India to meet rising global demand for aerospace solutions. Precision manufacturing and rapid industrialisation are critical for sectors such as defence aviation, commercial aerospace, and space exploration, where quality and reliability are non-negotiable. The centre’s focus on NPI also ensures that new technologies and designs can be industrialised quickly, reducing the time-to-market for innovative products.

The investment by Solestra Group and Jeh Aerospace also underscores Hyderabad’s growing importance in the global aerospace supply chain. With India’s aerospace and defence sector projected to expand significantly in the coming decade, facilities like the GMC will be instrumental in ensuring that the country not only meets domestic requirements but also becomes a trusted supplier to international markets.

As Telangana continues to attract global industry leaders, the GMC stands as a symbol of the state’s commitment to fostering innovation, building industrial capacity, and advancing self-reliance in strategic sectors. For Solestra Group and Jeh Aerospace, it represents a long-term bet on India’s potential to shape the future of aerospace manufacturing.
