Adidas Japan has released an all-animation music video for “KIRA,” the official uniform song of the Japan National Football Team’s 2026 home kit. Produced by TBWA HAKUHODO and featuring vocalist Ado, the film blends sport, music and fantasy to capture the nation’s determination to reach World Cup glory.

adidas Japan has taken a bold creative leap with the launch of “KIRA,” an animated music video that serves as the official anthem for the Japan National Football Team’s 2026 home kit. Planned and produced by TBWA HAKUHODO, the film features acclaimed vocalist Ado and tells an original story set during a fictional World Cup final.

The video is built on the design concept “HORIZON,” symbolising the team’s and fans’ collective drive to achieve victory at this year’s FIFA World Cup. In the narrative, Japan’s players face a formidable rival whose transformation into monstrous creatures threatens their chances. As the heroine sings from the stands, her voice awakens the spirit of the national team, sparking a dramatic comeback.

The climax sees the score locked at 2–2, with the final outcome left untold. This deliberate open ending mirrors the anticipation surrounding the real tournament, inviting fans to imagine Japan’s path to triumph.

Adding to its cultural resonance, the video includes animated cameo appearances from former Japan National player Shunsuke Nakamura, judoka Uta Abe, Homare Sawa, Hifumi Abe and Rachid Muratake. Crowd scenes are enriched by “Fan Characters” selected through a public casting call, ensuring supporters themselves are woven into the narrative.

By merging football, animation and music, adidas Japan has created a work that transcends sport, celebrating national pride and fan imagination. “KIRA” is not just a uniform song but a cinematic expression of hope, determination and unity, amplifying the excitement as Japan prepares for the World Cup stage.

Freckle has unveiled a light-hearted campaign for new client DPD South Africa, celebrating humour and spontaneity. Beyond the laughs, the campaign also highlights the human side of delivery—showing how a DPD courier calmly handled a husband’s anxiety during a life‑changing moment, turning stress into reassurance.

It is always refreshing when clients embrace the unexpected, and Freckle’s latest collaboration with DPD South Africa is a testament to that spirit. The creative agency has crafted a campaign that thrives on randomness, humour and the simple pleasure of making people smile.

For Freckle, the project was more than just another assignment—it was an opportunity to showcase how playful ideas can resonate with audiences and strengthen brand identity. The campaign, described by the team as “lekke” to work on, reflects a willingness from DPD South Africa to step outside conventional boundaries and embrace creativity that entertains as much as it informs.

Yet the campaign also carries a deeper resonance. One anecdote shared during its rollout involved a husband caught in the throes of frustration and anxiety while awaiting the delivery, crucial to his family’s life. In that tense moment, the DPD courier became more than a messenger—he was a steady presence who diffused the stress, reassured the husband, and ensured the delivery was handled with care.

This story underscores the human dimension of logistics: behind every parcel is a person, often with emotions running high. By spotlighting such moments, Freckle and DPD South Africa remind audiences that delivery services are not only about efficiency but also about empathy and connection.

The campaign highlights the value of spontaneity in advertising, where unexpected concepts can cut through the noise and connect with consumers on a more human level. By leaning into humour and lightness, Freckle has positioned DPD South Africa as a brand that not only delivers parcels but also delivers joy.

As Freckle continues to expand its portfolio, this project reinforces the agency’s belief that creativity should not only serve business goals but also enrich everyday experiences. For DPD South Africa, it is a bold step into a more playful brand narrative—one that promises to deliver smiles alongside parcels, and reassurance alongside responsibility.

A life-size racing car made entirely of chocolate has been unveiled through a creative collaboration between KitKat and Formula 1 at Silverstone. Weighing 350 kilograms and crafted over 1,200 hours, the striking installation celebrates the shared idea of “taking a break”, blending motorsport spectacle with playful brand storytelling.

A full-scale racing car sculpted entirely from chocolate has been unveiled in a striking creative collaboration between KitKat and Formula 1, capturing attention with both its ingenuity and indulgent appeal.

Displayed at the iconic Silverstone Circuit, the installation weighs an impressive 350 kilograms and took more than 1,200 hours of meticulous hand craftsmanship to complete. The life-size vehicle mirrors the form and detail of a modern Formula 1 machine, but instead of carbon fibre and titanium, it is built entirely from chocolate.

The concept behind the piece draws on a shared theme between the two global icons. Formula 1 is defined by the precision and drama of pit stops—those crucial moments when drivers pause mid-race for rapid adjustments. KitKat, meanwhile, has long been synonymous with the idea of taking a break. The creative link between pit stops and chocolate breaks provides the foundation for the project, translating a simple strategic insight into a highly visual statement.

In many ways, the installation exemplifies how powerful ideas often appear obvious once realised. The notion that motorsport’s most intense competition relies on carefully timed pauses aligns neatly with the confectionery brand’s long-running messaging. By materialising that connection in the form of a chocolate racing car, the collaboration turns a conceptual link into something tangible, playful and memorable.

Visitors and fans at Silverstone have responded enthusiastically to the display, which merges craftsmanship with spectacle. Each detail—from the aerodynamic curves to the wheels and bodywork—was painstakingly recreated by hand in chocolate, demonstrating both artistic precision and technical patience.

Beyond its visual impact, the project also highlights the continuing role of experiential marketing within global sports partnerships. Formula 1’s growing collaborations with lifestyle and consumer brands increasingly aim to create moments that extend beyond the racetrack, connecting with fans through creativity and storytelling.

The chocolate car stands as a celebration of that approach: a blend of sport, humour and design that makes a strategic partnership instantly understandable. In the end, the message is simple yet effective—whether in racing or in life, sometimes the most important moments happen when you stop for a break.

The Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Málaga 2025 embraced a striking new typographic identity crafted by Tiquismiquis.club. Drawing inspiration from 1970s and 80s flamenco posters, the design reinterprets popular graphic culture with contemporary flair, blending Umbra and Copperplate Gothic typefaces to honour tradition while projecting timeless energy and authenticity.

The Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Málaga, held from 27 May to 2 August 2025, reaffirmed its role as one of Spain’s most significant cultural gatherings, celebrating flamenco not only as an art form but as a living heritage deeply rooted in the city’s identity. Bringing together singers, dancers, guitarists, and audiences from diverse backgrounds, the Bienal created a space of exchange and visibility where tradition and innovation met in vibrant dialogue. This year, however, the event distinguished itself with a striking new typographic identity designed by Tiquismiquis.club, a creative studio that turned to the past to shape the future.

The design process began with what the studio described as “visual archaeology.” Rather than inventing a style from scratch, the team immersed themselves in the graphic culture of flamenco posters from the 1970s and 80s. These posters, once plastered across Andalusian streets, were characterised by bold typography, abundant text, vivid colours, and a distinctive flair that spoke directly to popular audiences. Tiquismiquis.club sought to revive that communicative energy, not as nostalgic imitation but as respectful reinterpretation. By studying the way those posters conveyed passion and presence, the designers aimed to capture flamenco’s essence in a contemporary visual language.

The result was a typographic identity that balances authenticity with modernity. For the Bienal’s masthead, the studio chose to combine two typefaces from the 20th century: Umbra and Copperplate Gothic. Umbra, with its expressive play of shadows, lends dynamism and depth, while Copperplate Gothic, with its solid and classical character, provides stability and gravitas. Together, they create a headline that is both commanding and timeless, embodying flamenco’s dual nature as tradition and living art. The dialogue between these typefaces strengthens the Bienal’s identity, connecting it to the graphic heritage that inspired the project while ensuring it resonates with contemporary audiences.

This typographic choice was not merely aesthetic. It was a deliberate act of cultural storytelling. Flamenco, after all, is more than performance; it is a language of identity, emotion, and resilience. By rooting the Bienal’s visual identity in the graphic traditions of past decades, Tiquismiquis.club underscored flamenco’s continuity across generations. The abundance of text and bold colours of earlier posters spoke to communities for whom flamenco was not an elite art but a shared cultural heartbeat. Reinterpreting that style today bridges the gap between heritage and modern design, reminding audiences that flamenco’s energy is timeless.

The Bienal itself provided the perfect stage for this identity to shine. Across Málaga, performances unfolded in theatres, plazas, and intimate venues, showcasing the breadth of flamenco expression—from the raw intensity of cante singing to the intricate rhythms of dance and the soulful resonance of guitar playing. The new typographic identity appeared across posters, programmes, and digital platforms, ensuring that the Bienal’s presence was felt not only in sound and movement but in visual form. The masthead’s bold pairing of Umbra and Copperplate Gothic became a symbol of the Bienal’s character: rooted in tradition, yet alive with contemporary relevance.

For audiences, the design offered more than visual appeal. It invited them to see flamenco through the lens of its cultural history, to recognise the artistry not only in performance but in the way flamenco has been communicated and celebrated over decades. In this sense, Tiquismiquis.club’s work extended the Bienal’s mission of visibility and exchange. Just as the Bienal brings together artists and audiences, the typographic identity brought together past and present, popular culture and professional design, heritage and innovation.

As the Bienal concluded in early August, the typographic identity remained as a lasting imprint of the 2025 edition. It demonstrated how design can serve as cultural archaeology, unearthing and reinterpreting traditions to keep them alive in contemporary contexts. For Málaga, a city where flamenco is inseparable from its soul, the Bienal’s new visual language affirmed that heritage is not static but dynamic, capable of evolving while preserving its essence.

In giving the Bienal de Arte Flamenco de Málaga a typographic identity rooted in graphic heritage, Tiquismiquis.club achieved more than a design project. They created a cultural statement: that flamenco’s passion, authenticity, and energy can be expressed not only in song and dance but in the very letters that announce its presence.

Global brewer AB InBev has showcased its latest brewing innovations to National Geographic at its headquarters in Leuven, Belgium. The interaction highlights advances in fermentation, smart yeast technology and brewing methods that are enabling a new generation of low- and no-alcohol beers while expanding consumer choice and occasions.

At its historic headquarters in Leuven, Belgium, global brewing giant AB InBev recently welcomed journalists from National Geographic for a behind-the-scenes look at how innovation is reshaping one of the world’s oldest and most beloved beverages.

The visit formed part of a major cover story examining how brewers are adapting to changing consumer expectations while preserving the traditions that have defined beer for centuries. At the centre of the feature is AB InBev’s evolving approach to fermentation science, brewing technology and product development aimed at delivering flavourful beer experiences for every occasion.

From laboratories studying yeast behaviour to advanced brewing systems designed to refine flavour profiles, the company is exploring new ways to balance taste, alcohol levels and consumer preferences. Researchers and brewers are experimenting with what the company describes as “smart yeast” innovations—carefully selected or engineered strains that influence fermentation in ways that can produce more nuanced flavours while controlling alcohol content.

These advances are helping to drive one of the fastest-growing segments of the global beer market: no-alcohol and low-alcohol options. As consumer lifestyles evolve, many drinkers are seeking beverages that fit social moments without necessarily involving higher alcohol levels. Brewers around the world have responded by expanding their portfolios with beverages that maintain the character of traditional beer while offering lighter or alcohol-free alternatives.

AB InBev’s teams say the challenge lies in ensuring that reduced-alcohol beers retain the complexity, mouthfeel and satisfaction expected from the category. Achieving this requires a combination of fermentation control, ingredient selection and modern brewing technologies that allow brewers to carefully manage flavour development.

The company believes such innovations do more than broaden its own product line. They also contribute to the wider evolution of the global beer industry by demonstrating how heritage and science can work together to meet contemporary consumer needs.

The National Geographic feature explores this intersection of tradition and technology, portraying brewing not only as a craft rooted in history but also as a field increasingly shaped by biotechnology, data and experimentation. At the Leuven headquarters, where centuries-old brewing knowledge meets modern research facilities, that blend is particularly visible.

For AB InBev, the focus remains on expanding occasions where beer can be enjoyed—whether at celebrations, casual gatherings or everyday moments. By building a portfolio that includes traditional beers alongside low- and no-alcohol alternatives, the company aims to offer consumers greater flexibility and choice.

As the beer industry continues to evolve, the innovations highlighted in the feature suggest that the future of brewing will depend as much on scientific discovery as on the enduring appeal of sharing a drink. For brewers and drinkers alike, the goal remains the same: raising a glass to moments worth celebrating.

Hyundai Motor Company is transforming the in-car digital experience with Pokémon-themed dashboard features for select models. Animated start-up screens, character-inspired navigation and playful themes featuring favourites like Pikachu and Ditto turn everyday driving in the IONIQ 6, IONIQ 9 and Palisade into an interactive entertainment adventure.

Hyundai Motor Company is bringing a touch of playful nostalgia to the driver’s seat by turning the digital dashboard of its latest vehicles into a vibrant Pokémon-themed experience. Through a creative new interface concept, the carmaker is reimagining the in-car environment as an immersive entertainment space where drivers and passengers can interact with beloved characters from the world of Pokémon.

The initiative introduces themed digital experiences designed for models such as the Hyundai IONIQ 6, Hyundai IONIQ 9 and Hyundai Palisade. With character-led interfaces and animated graphics, the dashboard evolves beyond its conventional role of displaying navigation and driving data, instead becoming a playful canvas inspired by one of the world’s most recognisable entertainment franchises.

Among the standout features are custom themes such as “Pikachu Quick Attack” and “Ditto World”, which transform the look and feel of the vehicle’s digital displays. Start-up screens burst to life with animated sequences featuring the iconic electric Pokémon Pikachu, while interface elements draw visual cues from the shape-shifting charm of Ditto. These themed environments extend into navigation graphics and system icons, ensuring the Pokémon aesthetic flows seamlessly throughout the vehicle’s infotainment system.

The concept reflects a growing trend among automotive brands to turn the car’s interior digital ecosystem into an extension of lifestyle and entertainment. As vehicles increasingly adopt large touchscreens and connected software platforms, manufacturers are exploring ways to personalise the driving environment and engage younger, digitally native audiences.

For Hyundai, the Pokémon-inspired themes underline the brand’s ambition to blur the line between technology, entertainment and mobility. The immersive interface allows drivers to customise the mood of the car’s digital cockpit much like they would personalise a smartphone or gaming console, adding a layer of emotional connection to the driving experience.

The choice of Pokémon also taps into a multigenerational cultural phenomenon. Since its debut in the late 1990s, the franchise has grown from a video game series into a global entertainment empire spanning films, television, toys and mobile gaming. By weaving these characters into its vehicle interface, Hyundai is harnessing the enduring appeal of the brand while showcasing the versatility of its software-driven platforms.

As cars become more software-defined and connected, the dashboard is rapidly evolving into a central hub for both information and entertainment. Hyundai’s playful Pokémon themes signal a future where stepping into a vehicle could feel less like entering a machine and more like entering a personalised digital world on wheels.

Audi has collaborated with textile artist Luna Muñoz to transform the 753-kilometre electric range of the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron into a seven-metre handwoven tapestry. The project, titled “The Most Beautiful Journey”, merges technology and craftsmanship, highlighting the brand’s longest electric range through contemporary textile art.

In an ambitious fusion of engineering and artistry, Audi has transformed the 753-kilometre electric range of its new Audi A6 Sportback e-tron into a striking textile artwork created by Spanish artist Luna Muñoz. Unveiled in Madrid on 3 March 2026, the initiative reimagines the brand’s longest-ever electric range as 753 kilometres of handwoven thread, culminating in a seven-metre tapestry that bridges technology, territory and craftsmanship.

Titled “The Most Beautiful Journey”, the project seeks to make tangible what is typically measured only in data and distance. Rather than presenting the vehicle’s record-breaking range through conventional automotive metrics, Audi chose to interpret each kilometre as a physical thread, inviting audiences to experience performance through texture and touch.

Muñoz, founder of Casa Chinchilla and renowned for her mastery of the high-warp loom – a traditional vertical weaving technique – was commissioned to translate this ambitious concept into reality. Accustomed to working within defined formats, she described the scale of the undertaking as unprecedented in her practice. “The biggest challenge has been having to work from kilometres of thread instead of from a format, which is how I always work,” she explained.

The resulting tapestry stretches seven metres in length and symbolically charts a journey through diverse landscapes. Through variations in material, density and volume, Muñoz evokes shifting terrains and atmospheres, rendering the abstract notion of range into a richly layered visual narrative. Textures rise and recede; threads gather and disperse, mirroring the rhythm of travel and the subtle changes encountered along a long-distance drive.

The artwork’s conceptual strength lies in its juxtaposition of cutting-edge electric mobility with one of humanity’s oldest crafts. By employing the painstaking technique of high-warp weaving, Muñoz underscores the patience and precision shared by both artisan and engineer. The loom becomes an unlikely counterpart to the production line, each demanding rigour, vision and technical mastery.

For Audi, the collaboration represents more than a celebration of battery capability. It signals a broader brand philosophy that positions innovation alongside emotional resonance. In an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and digital acceleration, the company’s decision to foreground the handmade speaks to a desire for authenticity within premium positioning.

Fran Arguijo, Creative Director at Ogilvy in Barcelona, which collaborated on the initiative, framed the project as a strategic expression of modern luxury.

“For this project, we looked for an artist whose craftsmanship would highlight this technological milestone,” he said. “In an environment saturated by AI, the artisanal world has become the voice of premium brands. The value of the handmade, the authentic, differentiates you and positions you as a ‘human luxury’ brand.”

The A6 Sportback e-tron’s 753-kilometre range marks a significant milestone in Audi’s electrification journey, positioning the model at the forefront of long-distance electric mobility within the brand’s portfolio. By converting this figure into a tactile experience, Audi reframes technical achievement as cultural expression.

Displayed as both artwork and statement piece, the tapestry invites viewers to reconsider how progress is measured. Where kilometres typically exist as numbers on a dashboard, here they are threads interlaced by hand, each one representing motion, possibility and continuity. The piece stands not only as a tribute to electric performance, but also as a meditation on the beauty of the journey itself.

In weaving together heritage craft and forward-looking engineering, Audi demonstrates that innovation need not be purely mechanical. Sometimes, it can be something you can almost feel beneath your fingertips.

From a small village in Kerala’s Thrissur district to a leading fintech office in Bangalore, designer Sanal Gopi is carving a distinctive path in illustration and visual storytelling. Rooted in clarity and craft, his Procreate-driven practice reflects a self-made artist’s commitment to meaningful expression over generative trends.

In an era where design trends shift at the speed of a scroll and generative tools dominate creative conversations, Sanal Gopi has chosen a quieter, more deliberate path. A designer with a strong focus on illustration, visual storytelling and brand communication, Sanal represents a generation of Indian creatives who are as comfortable crafting product visuals and iconography as they are shaping motion graphics for high-growth technology brands.

Hailing from Ammadam in Kerala’s Thrissur district, a region known for its cultural vibrancy and artistic traditions, Sanal’s journey into the design world did not follow a predetermined blueprint. He describes himself as a self-made artist, driven less by formal labels and more by an urge to create expressions that matter. That instinct, nurtured in a small town setting, has now found a professional home in Bangalore, where he works with PhonePe, one of India’s leading fintech platforms, contributing to artworks and motion graphics that reach millions of users.

Sanal’s work is anchored in clarity. In brand communication, clarity is currency, and his illustrations aim to distill complex ideas into visuals that are both engaging and accessible. Whether designing product visuals that explain features at a glance or developing iconography that aligns seamlessly with an established design direction, he approaches each assignment as a narrative challenge. What is the story being told? Who is it for? How can a single frame communicate what paragraphs often struggle to express?

Colleagues describe him as collaborative and detail-oriented, someone who works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that visual elements are not decorative afterthoughts but integral components of user experience. In technology-driven environments like fintech, where design intersects with engineering, marketing and product strategy, this ability to translate ideas across disciplines is invaluable. Sanal’s illustrations and motion pieces are shaped not in isolation but through conversations, feedback loops and iterative refinement.

A significant part of his recent body of work has been created using Procreate, the widely celebrated digital illustration app for iPad. Marketed as “creative tools made for everyone”, Procreate has become a staple among both aspiring artists and seasoned professionals. For Sanal, it is more than a tool; it is an enabler. Its intuitive interface and powerful feature set allow him to move fluidly from rough sketches to polished compositions, experimenting with colour, texture and motion concepts without the friction often associated with heavier software suites.

The affordability of Procreate – a one-time purchase of Rs. 999 – is something he often points out when discussing his process. In a landscape where creative software frequently demands subscription fees that can strain young artists’ budgets, a cost-effective, professional-grade tool can make a tangible difference. For designers emerging from smaller towns or non-traditional backgrounds, access matters. The democratisation of creative tools, in his view, levels the playing field, allowing talent rather than resources to determine outcomes.

Yet, while he embraces digital tools, Sanal is measured in his approach to the current wave of generative AI in art and design. He is not particularly drawn to the generative AI aspect of painting, preferring instead the intentionality of hand-crafted expression. For him, illustration is not merely about output but about process – the hours spent refining a line, adjusting a composition, or experimenting with movement in a frame. The human hand, with its imperfections and intuitions, remains central to his philosophy.

This stance is not rooted in resistance but in preference. He acknowledges the rapid evolution of technology but chooses to focus on expression that feels personal and considered. In a time when AI-generated visuals can be produced in seconds, his commitment to craft underscores a belief that meaning is built layer by layer. The value lies not only in what is seen on screen but in the thought that shapes it.

Growing up in Ammadam, far removed from the bustle of India’s technology corridors, Sanal did not have immediate access to large design studios or advertising networks. What he did have was curiosity and persistence. Like many self-taught creatives, he relied on online tutorials, experimentation and a steady practice routine to hone his skills. Each project, whether personal or professional, became a stepping stone. Over time, a portfolio took shape, reflecting not just technical competence but a distinct sensibility.

His move to Bangalore marked a significant shift. The city, often dubbed India’s Silicon Valley, is home to a thriving ecosystem of start-ups and established technology firms. At PhonePe, Sanal operates at the intersection of finance and design, a space where visual communication can directly influence user trust and engagement. Motion graphics in such contexts are not ornamental; they guide users through transactions, clarify processes and reinforce brand tone.

The discipline required in fintech design has sharpened his approach. Constraints – whether regulatory, technical or brand-driven – demand precision. An icon cannot mislead; an animation cannot distract from critical information. Sanal’s ability to balance creativity with responsibility has become a defining trait of his professional identity. Each frame must serve a purpose.

Beyond client briefs and brand guidelines, he continues to nurture personal projects. These works, often developed in Procreate, allow him to explore themes and styles that may not fit within corporate parameters. They are spaces for experimentation, for bold colour palettes or expressive character studies that speak to his inner narrative. Even here, however, the thread of storytelling remains consistent.

Sanal’s journey reflects a broader shift in India’s creative economy. Talent is no longer confined to metropolitan centres or elite institutions. Digital platforms, affordable tools and remote collaboration have opened doors for artists from towns like Ammadam to contribute to national and global brands. The arc from Thrissur district to Bangalore is not just geographic; it symbolises the expanding horizons of India’s design landscape.

As conversations about automation and AI continue to reshape the creative industry, designers like Sanal remind us of the enduring power of human intent. Tools will evolve, software will update, and trends will come and go. But the core of visual storytelling – empathy, clarity and expression – remains deeply human.

Looking ahead, Sanal is less concerned with chasing hype and more focused on refining his voice. For him, success is not measured solely by titles or trends but by the resonance of his work. Does it communicate clearly? Does it feel authentic? Does it make the viewer pause, even briefly?

From the quiet lanes of Ammadam to the dynamic workspaces of Bangalore, his journey is one of persistence, adaptability and purpose. In every icon crafted, every product visual refined and every motion graphic animated, there is a thread that connects back to a self-made artist determined to create expressions that matter.
